A elderly man has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle head-on crash at Spreyton on Tuesday afternoon.
The 75-year-old north-west man was driving a black Holden Commodore when it collided with a white Nissan Navara on Sheffield Road around 4:10pm.
He was rushed to the Launceston General Hospital in a critical condition but died overnight, police said.
The 62-year-old driver of the Nissan Navara, also from the north-west, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
He remains in the Launceston General Hospital receiving treatment.

Police said there were no passengers in either vehicle and no other people were injured in the collision.
Sheffield Road at Spreyton was closed for several hours while emergency crews and crash investigators worked at the scene.
The crash has prompted police to appeal for public assistance as they continue their investigation.
“Anyone with information or dash-cam or CCTV footage of the incident is asked to contact police on 131 444,” police said.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
