A teenage P-plater from New South Wales has been caught speeding at 41km/h over the limit on the Bass Highway.

The young driver was fined $858.50 on the spot and six demerit points, losing his licence for at least six months.

“Speeding is one of the fatal five factors contributing to the state’s road toll,” police said.

“[It] places drivers, passengers and all other road users at risk of serious injury due to the increased likelihood of causing a crash.”
