UK indie-rock band The Kooks have been announced as the ‘secret headliner’ for the 2025 edition of Party In The Paddock.
Festival organisers say they have been attempting to lure the band, best known for hits like ‘Naïve’, ‘She Moves in Her Own Way’ and ‘Seaside’, to the state “for over a decade”.
They join an already impressive lineup that includes Empire Of The Sun, AURORA, Amyl & The Sniffers, Role Model, Thelma Plum and Allday.
Space has also been reserved for a local Tasmanian artist or band, who will win their way on stage through a competition with Triple J Unearthed.
“PITP isn’t just about the tunes. It’s an immersive celebration of live music, community and creativity, delivering a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” organisers said.
“From stunning art installations and pop-up markets filled with fresh Tassie produce to comedy, live podcasts, drag performances, cabaret, mechanical bull rides, doof stick pageants, skate ramps, meditation, yoga and so much more, there’s truly something for everyone.”
Party In The Paddock will take place from February 6 to 9 at Quercus Park near Launceston.
