Two teenage boys have been charged over an aggravated armed robbery at a service station north of Hobart.
The 17 and 16-year-olds are also facing charges for two separate incidents of burglary and stealing in Rosny Park and Mornington the night before.
Detective Senior Sergeant Nick Bowden said the pair allegedly held up the United Service Station in Lutana around 5:15am on Wednesday.
They are then accused of fleeing the scene with a quantity of cash, prompting a police manhunt of the area.
The boys were taken into custody shortly after the incident and appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court Youth Justice Division on Wednesday afternoon.
Bowden thanked members of the public who responded to a police appeal for information.
“The assistance provided by the community was of great help to us in solving this case,” he said.
Updated 6:55pm, Thursday September 19: Police have now arrested a third youth in connection with the armed robbery incident.
The 17-year-old boy will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court tonight.
