A man has gone viral on social media for making a ‘very daring’ jump between the Organ Pipes on the foothills of Hobart’s kunanyi/Mt Wellington.
The seasoned jumper, whose dangerous video was seen more than 11 million times, was slammed by commenters for his “stupid” and “irresponsible” actions.
“High risk low reward activities,” one commenter said.
“Yeah mountain rescue love scraping people off cliffs. Don’t post this stuff online because people think they can copy it,” said another.
Sam Carter, who took the dangerous leap, travels across the globe to make risky jumps from high places.

While the Organ Pipes on kunanyi/Mt Wellington are popular for recreational activities like rock-climbing and occasional base jumping, ‘high-risk’ activities like those featured in Carter’s videos are not condoned.
