In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Digney said “the place is close to failure”.
“1 patient has been ramped with paramedics for 19 hours!!!”
The ambulance service handled around 434 cases yesterday, well above the average case load of 300.
The Department of Health and government are yet to comment on the situation, which has been described as a ‘complete mess’.
