A charity-run garden in Tasmania’s north-west is inviting gin and music enthusiasts to an immersive event featuring the latest creations from local distillers this month.
Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens near Burnie is set to host the inaugural Gin and Jazz Afternoon on Saturday January 11th.
Organisers say visitors will be able to sample a range of artisan gins while enjoying freshly made woodfired pizzas and relaxing to live jazz performances.
“The gardens were made for this kind of event,” said Events Manager Lynne Kershaw.
“It’s a great opportunity to showcase the versatility of our gardens and help our locals and visitors experience [local products].”
“This region is becoming the place to be for high-quality food and beverage agri-tourism experiences – and this experience is no different.”
The event is supporting the ongoing conservation and sustainability efforts at the gardens, with every dollar raised contributing to initiatives like platypus research and rhododendron species preservation.
General admission tickets cost $15, while members of the not-for-profit garden can attend for free.
