A French man allegedly responsible for an attack on a Tasmanian man at a pub in the south of the state last month has returned to face court.
The 27-year-old was extradited back to Tasmania on Wednesday as part of an investigation into a wounding incident outside the Cygnet Hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning on January 14.

The disturbance left a man from Lymington in his 20s with significant head, facial and neck injuries.
Police say the French national reportedly fled Tasmania two days after the incident occurred.
He is scheduled to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning on a charge of wounding.
