The recent attacks have led to service disruptions that the operator say is to ensure the safety of drivers, passengers and the community.

“These incidents are uncommon, but when they happen, they are very dangerous,” Inspector Jim Semmens said.

“Throwing rocks at any vehicle is unacceptable and dangerous, particularly in the case of heavy vehicles like busses as it places the driver, passengers, and members of the community in danger.”

“I would like to thank the community for assisting with this investigation.”

The teen will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
