A young George Town man has been arrested after allegedly firing shots at a vehicle in broad daylight yesterday.
Police were called to the incident just before 1pm on Thursday after reports a firearm had been discharged.
A spokesperson said a man was inside the vehicle at the time but was able to walk away without any injuries.
Officers from the Western District Uniform Operations team arrested the 20-year-old at a nearby George Town residence shortly after.
A subsequent search of the home allegedly located a homemade pistol, a second homemade firearm, firearm parts, ammunition and quantities of methylamphetamine.
The man has been charged with recklessly discharging a firearm, aggravated assault and reckless driving.
He is also facing charges for driving unlicensed, minor drug offences and multiple other firearms-related offences.
He is scheduled to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday.
