‘Hit-and-run’: Police hunt orange vehicle after Southern Outlet crash

A crash occurred on the Southern Outlet this afternoon

A car has been left extensively damaged after colliding with a barrier on the Hobart’s Southern Outlet near The Lea this afternoon.

The red hatchback is believed to have been involved in a crash with an orange vehicle around 2:30pm on Saturday.

Police said the driver of the orange vehicle fled the scene.

The driver of the red vehicle was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Southbound traffic is currently affected by the incident, with one lane blocked.

Emergency responders confirmed no serious injuries at the scene

Motorists are being asked to exercise caution and allow extra time for their journey or take an alternate route.

Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage related to the incident to come forward.
