A family shack in Tasmania’s Highlands has been destroyed after a fire this morning.
While the main property at the address on Highland Lakes Road in Miena was completely destroyed, Firefighters from six stations managed to save a second building nearby.
The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
No one was present at the address at the time of the fire.
EARLIER: Firefighters from six stations are battling a shack fire on Highland Lakes Road in Miena this morning.
The blaze was reported at around 7am on Tuesday morning with crews from Great Lake, Arthurs Lake, Golden Valley, Deloraine, Kempton and Bothwell arriving to find the shack fully engulfed in flames.
At 7:45am, A spokesperson for the Tasmania Fire Service said a second shack was “about to be impacted.”
It is not know if anyone was in either shack at the time the fire broke out.
