A woman who was dobbed in by other motorists for driving around with a smashed windscreen was also found to be intoxicated while behind the wheel, according to police.

The 43-year-old from Risdon Vale was pulled over in South Arm on Monday where she returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.236, four times the legal limit.

Acting Sergeant Mcvilly of Bellerive Police said the woman has been charged with a high-range DUI and has also been disqualified from driving for the next two years.

“Tasmania Police has a clear message to drivers – don’t drink and drive, we’re always on the roads, and you will get caught,” Mcvilly said.

“If you have witness information or dash cam footage of the vehicle in the area around the time yesterday and you haven’t already spoken to police, please ring Bellerive Police on 131 444.”
