Around 1,000 Tasmanians flocked to Carrick’s Quercus Park for the highly anticipated 2024 Rural Rumble on Saturday night.
Hagley Rural Youth hosted the all-ages gig, which featured a line-up of local and interstate country music performers, including Lane Pittman, Zac Weeks and Zack Walsh.
“We are still finalising numbers but it’s looking like our biggest Rural Rumble yet with around 1000 people,” co-organiser Jackie Harvey told Pulse.
“This year was our 4th official year after having to cancel previous events due to covid outbreaks.”
Despite the challenges, the organisers pulled off a successful event with the help of a dedicated team of volunteers.
“There are only 3 of us on the committee organising the whole event, but we had a massive turn out of volunteers to help us run the day and we are so thankful for their help,” Harvey said.
“Some rural youth members, some ex members and some just friends and family donating their time. Couldn’t have done it without them.”
Line dancing demonstrations and a ute competition rounded out the event.
“[We] couldn’t have asked for better weather and the amazing support from the community coming along,” Harvey said.
