One of Tasmania’s most ‘enchanting’ tourism destinations, Bridestowe Lavender Estate, has officially hit the market.
Sitting at Nabowla in the state’s northeast, the iconic landscape is home to over 660,000 lavender plants.
The estate also features a licensed cafe, a well-stocked retail shop, a comfortable residential dwelling and various structures supporting the production and sale of lavender products.
For the past 18 years, Bridestowe Lavender Estate has been a passion project for owner Robert Ravens.
He says while it’s been an amazing journey, both he and his wife will be turning 80 next year, so the time is right to sell.
Ravens transformed the estate from the brink of collapse in 2006 into a thriving global tourist destination by embracing the power of social media.
Bridestowe’s ever-popular lavender ice cream has become a social media sensation and a must-try for visitors.
The estate’s rich history in Tasmania dates back to 1921, when London perfumer CK Denny arrived with a packet of lavender seeds from the French Alps and a dream to distill lavender oil.
The lavender was initially planted in North Lilydale before being relocated to Nabowla 25 years later, where it continues to flourish today.
Expressions of interest for Bridestowe Lavender Estate close on November 12th at 4pm.
