A vibrant graffiti mural celebrating JackJumpers player Jack McVeigh’s remarkable shot on Sunday has been unveiled in the heart of Hobart’s CBD.
McVeigh’s awe-inspiring half-court shot, executed with just two seconds left on the clock, saw the JackJumpers win the game over Melbourne United, 93-91, at John Cain Arena.
Renowned local street artists Rhys Williams and Joel Imber worked together to create the Bidencopes Lane mural just days after the game and ahead of this Thursday’s anticipated finals match.
This artwork was brought to life through a ‘permission wall’ initiative, that allows Bidenscopes Lane to be used as a legal graffiti canvas.
Accessible to all, the lane welcomes aspiring artists to express themselves on its designated walls any day of the week, provided they obtain a free permit.
Nestled just off Murray Street near Centrepoint, Bidencopes Lane has served as a populate meeting spot for local graffiti and street art enthusiasts since the 1990s.
