Tasmania’s JackJumpers have won their first NBL title after defeating Melbourne United in the fifth-and-final game in Melbourne.
The 83-81 victory at John Cain Arena on Easter Sunday comes after a nail-biting season for the team.
The NBL say the game will “go down as one of the greatest games ever”.
“The JackJumpers, in just their third season, have capped one of the most incredible three-year runs in Australian sport with the championship,” they said.
“Tasmania has sold out every game across the state in its history, made the Championship Series twice, and are now champions.”
JackJumpers hero Jack McVeigh won the Larry Sengstock Trophy for Championship Series MVP, with his game winner in game three to go down as one of the greatest moments in NBL history.
Jordon Crawford was the star of the decider with 32 points and he was well supported by McVeigh (14 points, eight rebounds) and Will Magnay (11 points, 12 rebounds).
