A large tree has fallen across a busy Hobart street overnight, ripping the bumper from the front of a parked car and blocking traffic.
The tree came down on Brisbane Street, near the Elizabeth Street intersection, early on Friday morning.

Police and City of Hobart staff were called to the scene and managed to clear the road before peak travel times this morning.
“It’s not only our Aussie athletes who work hard through the night and make us proud!” the council said on social media.
The Bureau of Meteorology recorded wind gusts of up to 26km/h in the city in the hours after the incident.
It is understood no injuries were reported.
