A man and a teenager have been charged over a string of business burglaries in Northern Tasmania.
Police allege the 31-year-old from Launceston and a 15-year-old youth targeted five businesses in Miena, Deloraine and Westbury on August 22.
They said the man drove a vehicle to the businesses while the teenager entered each business, stealing cash, cigarettes and alcohol.
The total damage to the businesses caused across the hour and a half period is estimated at $4,000, with more than $800 worth of stock stolen during the four burglaries.
The pair are also accused of stealing fuel from an Exeter business around 7:30pm on the same night.
The teenager has been charged with four counts of burglary and five counts of stealing.
The 31-year-old man faces four charges of burglary and five charges of stealing.
Both have been granted bail and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
“Anyone with information or who observed a Toyota Landcruiser between 10pm and midnight Thursday … should contact Launceston CIB on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously,” police said.
