Tuesday morning travellers are being advised to anticipate delays when passing through Hobart Airport this morning due to a technical fault.
The airport advised of the “unforeseen operational fault” affecting the security screening area shortly before 7am on Tuesday.
“We are currently reduced to operating one lane in screening … Please allow additional time to get through security,” the airport said on social media.
“Our team are working to fix the problem and manage queues so that everyone can get through screening safely.”
Qantas flight QF1536 to Sydney experienced a delay of approximately one hour in its departure this morning, while Virgin’s VA1313 took off 20 minutes later than scheduled.
It remains unclear whether these delays were caused by security-related issues.
Travellers expected to be impacted include those boarding flights to Sydney and Melbourne within the next hour.
