Police are investigating a “relatively low speed” crash in a school zone that resulted in a vehicle rolling onto its roof.
The Toyota ended up upside down on Downie Street, right outside Brighton Primary School, during the busy pick-up period on Monday afternoon.
The incident unfolded when the car collided with a parked Holden Commodore, triggering the Toyota to roll and settle on its roof in the middle of the street.
Tasmania Police said the woman behind the wheel of the Toyota was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital as a precaution.
She will undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing, a standard procedure following traffic incidents.
The passenger in the Toyota escaped uninjured and was checked by paramedics as the scene.
Both vehicles involved in the crash were towed away after a brief road closure.
“Investigations are continuing in relation to the cause of the crash,” police said.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.”
