A woman in her 60s has passed away in a serious crash on the Tasman Highway, just four days before Christmas.
Emergency services were called to the incident on the outskirts of Scottsdale, near Tonganah, around 3:30pm on Saturday.
Police said initial investigations indicate the 66-year-old was a passenger in a silver Honda Accord that had veered off the road and come to a stop in a ditch.
The vehicle was reportedly travelling east at the time of the crash.
The man driving the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Launceston General Hospital.
Authorities are asking anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to contact Northern Crash Investigation Services.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The fatality is the 30th on Tasmanian roads this year.
