Reported bird strike causes power outage for over 1,600 in Sorell

Power has cut to over 1,600 homes and businesses in the Sorell area following a reported bird strike.

TasNetworks says areas affected included Sorell, Midway Point and Penna.

Crews are investigating reports of a bird strike on Sweetwater Road in Midway Point.

“Please stay at least 10 metres clear of any fallen power-lines or other damage and report it to TasNetworks on 132 004,” a spokesperson said.
