A crop maze in Tasmania’s north has been taken on a mystical ‘Weedy Seadragon’ sea creature design for its 2024 season.

The 5-hectare field housing the Rupertswood Farm Crop Maze in Hagley has previously showcased intricate designs including a majestic wedge-tailed eagle, a buzzing native bee and even cyclist Richie Porte.

The year’s Tasmanian Weedy Seadragon design draws inspiration from marine life found along the state’s east coast.

“We are excited about this year’s design and look forward to welcoming visitors to our farm again,” the Clark family said.

“The Crop Maze will open to the public on the weekend of 2-3 March for a limited time only.”

Created with the assistance of overseas designers and mowed into the crop using a GPS system, the maze attracts around 10,000 visitors to the farm each year.

The maze will open to a Gala Day on Sunday, March 3 with music, gumboot throwing, egg and spoon races, face painting and scarecrow building.
