Multiple gunshots have been heard in the Launceston CBD this morning during a “serious incident” involving police and a “person of interest”.
Footage of the incident on St Johns Street taken by a bystander and shared with Pulse captured the sound of four shots being fired in quick succession.

The second shot was fired 16 seconds after the first, with two more following at 20 seconds and 23 seconds.
Police have confirmed that one officer involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the “person of interest” is in a critical condition.
Both have been taken to the Launceston General Hospital.
It is understood the alleged offender was shot by police.
Authorities have assured the public that there is “no ongoing threat to the wider community”.
A crime scene has been established and several city streets have been closed.
