Stuck man winched from rocks at Dodges Ferry after high tide incident

A young man who became stranded on rocks at Dodges Ferry on Friday as high tide swept through the area has been rescued.

The 21-year-old called police around 4:30pm after he found himself stuck and unable to move due to the rising tide.

Local police officers were sent to the area but were unable to reach the man, prompting them to call in backup from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and the Sea Rescue Dodges Ferry vessel.

The man was eventually found around 500 metres from Carlton Beach and a rescue paramedic was winched down to his location.

He was safely airlifted off the rocks and taken back to shore, where he was checked for injuries.

Fortunately, he escaped the ordeal unscathed and did not require any medical attention.
