Hobart drivers are spending an average of 52 hours stuck in traffic each year.
The study by Novated Lease using data from navigation company TomTom ranked Hobart sixth among Australian cities for time spent in traffic congestion.
It found that the morning rush adds an extra eight minutes to a 10km trip and six minutes to the evening rush.
In Hobart, Tuesdays have the worst rush hour between 8am and 9am, with a 10km trip taking an average of 21 minutes.
Melbourne took the top spot as the city with the longest commutes, with locals spending 92 hours in traffic per year, or the equivalent of watching the movie ‘Oppenheimer’ 30.6 times.
Sydney follows closely behind with 83 hours of traffic annually, while Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth round out the top five.
