Two loose horses have caused chaos in a Hobart suburb overnight, leading a late-night chase down a busy main road.
Police were called shortly before 11pm on Thursday to reports of the horses galloping down South Arm Road in Rokeby on Hobart’s Eastern Shore.

The horses’ owner was quickly identified and notified of the incident, before attempts were made to catch the animals.
Images sent to Pulse show the horses trekking down both lanes of the main road as cars followed behind them, while making occasional stops in the car parks of local shops.
The horses eventually made it back to their paddock after 40 minutes, with no injuries reported.
