A Tasmanian mum-to-be has won $1 million in the lottery.
The woman from the state’s north matched all five main numbers in Wednesday night’s Weekday Windfall draw.
Unable to sleep in the early hours of the morning, the woman decided to check her ticket and was left ‘utterly speechless’ by the result.
“It doesn’t feel real. We have a baby on the way and this will be a huge help.”
The new mum-to-be said she was “tossing and turning” in the early hours due to her baby kicking.
“My husband was already getting ready because he was starting work at 4am, and he came over and said, ‘Did you win? Is that win yours?’,” she said.
“We’re both in shock.”
The woman said the prize would help her make a big dent in her mortgage payments.
“We will be putting it towards paying off the house,” she said.
