Tasmanian radio stars Dan & Christie, Adam & Issy up for ‘best on air’ honours

Several Tasmanian radio teams and personalities have been shortlisted as finalists in the 2024 Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs).

Hit 100.9’s Dan Taylor and Christie Hayes, known as Dan & Christie, are in the running for the best on-air team award in the provincial category.

“Thank you to all of our listeners who allow us to do what we do! We love you,” Dan & Christie said.

The duo are nominated alongside Chilli FM’s Adam Davison and Isabella Roldán, known as Adam & Issy, who are vying for the best on-air team title in the country category.

Triple M Hobart’s Karen ‘Kaz’ McMullen and Tubes Taylor have both been nominated for the best new talent on-air award in the provincial category, while Chilli’s Nicholas Groer is a finalist in the same category for country radio.

“With 1159 entries this year, 361 finalists and only 71 awards up for grabs the competition is fiercer than ever,” Commercial Radio and Audio chief commercial officer Jo Dick said.

In the non-metro category, Chilli’s ‘The Swear Jar’ with Adam & Issy is up for best comedy segment and 7HOFM’s ‘School of the Year’ promotion, which they have run for several years in a row, is a finalist for most creative station promotion.

LAFM/7SD’s Shayne Brian is in the running for best music feature for ‘The Police Diaries’.

“Their contributions are a significant part of what makes the Australian audio scene so exciting and dynamic,” Dick added.

The 35th edition of the awards will take place at The Star in Sydney on October 12.
