The offenders managed to steal an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene, but were “quickly identified” by nearby police officers and arrested.

An 18-year-old Kings Meadows man and a 17-year-old from Riverside have each been charged with aggravated armed robbery.

Police said the pair were granted bail with “strict conditions” and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.

Nobody was physically injured during the incident.
