Travellers at Launceston Airport are being met with extensive delays this morning as the airport is shrouded in thick fog.
Multiple flights have been disrupted, including the two early Thursday arrivals from Melbourne.
Flightradar24 data shows QJE1541 from Melbourne has been in the air for over two hours, double the normal flight time, while VOZ1362 is more than an hour and a half behind schedule.
Both flights are currently circling over the Northern Midlands and are expected to be delayed by more than two hours upon landing.
The disruptions have also caused delays for departing passengers and arriving packages.
Qantas Freight flight QF7356 diverted back to Melbourne around 8am after circling the airport several time.
Passengers are being advised to contact their airline for updates.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the ‘patchy fog’ is expected to lift after midday.
