The BOM predicts that the “hazardous conditions” will worsen from Saturday afternoon through to Sunday morning.

Tasmania Police have echoed the warning and advised hikers to reconsider their plans if they are not well equipped and experienced for the predicted conditions.

Snow as low as 600 to 800m is possible from early Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning in parts of the Western and Central Plateau forecast districts.
