Fans of the Tasmanian JackJumpers are being encouraged to join tonight’s semi-final showdown against the Perth Wildcats at various pubs across the state.
The game against the Perth Wildcats will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, tipping off at 9:30pm Tasmanian time.
The match marks the start of a best-of-three semi-final series, with the victor advancing to the grand final.
Speaking at the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation’s International Women’s Day breakfast in Hobart this morning, JackJumpers CEO Christine Finnegan said it was an ‘exciting time’ for the team, who are currently ranking 3rd in the league.
She said the team will be ‘constantly thinking’ of their fans back home during the Western Australia match.
“We’re defending the island,” she said.
Numerous live sites across Tasmania will broadcast the game tonight, while round 2 of the semi-finals at MyState Bank Arena next Monday is already sold out.
MyState Bank Arena will also host a free official watching party in their Derwent Room, with doors opening at 7:30pm.
