A young Tasmanian devil is recovering after being found alone on the side of a road with a broken collarbone.

The young devil, named Caspian, was discovered without his mother.

Three of his siblings were located in the same area shortly after and all four joeys were taken to a wildlife rehabilitator.

A couple of days later, the rehabilitator noticed Caspian wasn’t doing as well as his siblings.

He was taken to the Bonorong Wildlife Hospital, where veterinarians confirmed he had a broken collarbone.

“Injuries aside, these four are too young to properly care for themselves in the wild, so they are lucky to have been rescued when they were,” the hospital said.

“Our team created a care plan in conjunction with Caspian’s rehabilitator that should help him get back on track.”

Hospital staff hope Caspian and his siblings will eventually return safely to the wild.
