Police have charged two 14-year-olds and one 15-year-old after they allegedly drove across the Bowen Bridge at 200km/h – 120km/h over the 80km/h limit – before evading police.
The unlicensed teenagers are also alleged to have entered multiple homes across the city from New Norfolk to Howrah, Rokeby and Lindisfarne to steal car keys and vehicles between August and October.
Police say the teens also targeted unlocked vehicles, with officers recovering one car stolen from Howrah in the Carlton area yesterday.
The youths have been charged with 41 offences, including aggravated burglary, stealing, dangerous driving, motor vehicle stealing, evade police, drug offences, unlicensed driving offences, graffiti offences and breaching court bail.
Two of the youths are scheduled to appear in a Youth Court today, while the other has been granted ‘conditional bail’.
