200m freestyle world record broken by Ariarne Titmus at Australian swimming trials

Tasmanian swimmer Ariarne Titmus has set a new world record in the 200m freestyle.

Titmus swam a time of 1:52.23, breaking the 1:52.85 record previously held by Mollie O’Callaghan at the Australian Olympic swimming selection trials in Brisbane on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old beat second place O’Callaghan, who finished in 1:52.48.
