44-year-old accused of breaking into several businesses with 16-year-old accomplice

A man and a teenage boy have been charged over a string of business burglaries across Latrobe and Spreyton.

The 44 and 16-year-old allegedly broke into several businesses on Mersey Main Road and Gilbert Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Detectives from the Western Criminal Investigation Branch identified the pair as suspects and arrested them on Monday.

Police said property and cash allegedly taken during the burglaries were recovered during the arrests.

The man has been charged with five counts of burglary, attempted burglary, four counts of stealing and drug-related offences.

The teenager faces charges of two counts of common assault, five counts of burglary, one of attempted burglary, five of stealing and family violence offences.

Both will appear in the court at a later date.
