Popular 7 Tasmania weekend newsreader Louise Houbaer has confirmed she is just ‘weeks away’ from giving birth to her second child.

Taking to her public Instagram page, Houbaer said her “new precious little possum” was “kicking so much” during Sunday night’s bulletin.

“I’m wondering whether it could be seen through the screen,” Houbaer wrote.

“It’s becoming a squeeze to fit behind the desk (& to find things to wear that fit)”.

The newsreader confirmed her pregnancy in an on-screen scene with weather presenter Peter Murphy in early October.

Louise and husband Dave welcomed their first daughter Matilda in September 2021.

Houbaer has been part of Tasmania’s Nightly News team since 2016 and stepped up to the anchoring role after the departure of Rachel Williams in 2020.
