A fire that started in a BBQ and quickly spread to a West Hobart house has left behind ‘extensive damage’ this afternoon.
The Tasmania Fire Service say multiple triple zero calls alerted them to the initial BBQ fire, but by the time crews arrived, the flames had already extended into the house.

Investigators say despite a quick response by the crews from Hobart and Clarence, the fire caused significant damage to the property – estimated to be close to $50,000.
One of the occupants of the house was treated for smoke inhalation.
An investigation determined the cause of the fire was accidental.
