Bearcat deployed, three people arrested after armed ‘custody incident’ in Hobart’s northern suburbs

Three people have been taken into custody following an incident involving an alleged armed person in Hobart’s northern suburbs overnight.

Police were called to Gagebrook around 4:30pm on Sunday following a report of an armed person “allegedly involved” in a custody dispute.

As a result of their investigations, a 23-year-old woman was taken into custody in Montrose around 20 minutes later.

The incident escalated later that evening, with the Special Operations Group’s ‘Bearcat’ armoured vehicle dispatched to an address on Shoobridge Street in Bridgewater.

Two men, aged 23 and 45, were then arrested at the Bridgewater address.

A Tasmania Police spokesperson said no one was physically injured in the incident.

“Investigations are continuing,” the spokesperson said.
