A dog has been successfully rescued after darting across Hobart’s busy Tasman Bridge during rush hour this morning.

The dog made it all the way from Rosny on the eastern shore and had nearly reached the Hobart CBD when it was caught.

Police say the dog stuck to “one lane for most of the zoomie effort” and was stopped by officers at the Hobart Regatta Grounds some 2.5kms away.

“Our officers said their new furry friend promised to keep off the roads next time and wanted to thank commuters for their patience and understanding,” police said.
