“If you’re not obeying the road rules, you should be aware that police will be ‘looking out’ for you while we’re on patrol,” he said.

Among those charged since Friday are a 33-year-old East Devonport woman caught drink driving, a 32-year-old Burnie man charged with drink driving and driving without a licence and a 30-year-old Ulverstone man charged with drink driving and driving while disqualified.

A 39-year-old Penguin man is facing charges for drink driving, driving while disqualified and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Inspector Spencer said police are also pursuing charges against a 27-year-old Wynyard man for evading police and speeding in Burnie, a 44-year-old Havenview man for evading police in Wynyard and a 19-year-old Ulverstone man for evading police in Devonport.

Several people have also been charged with driving while disqualified, including a 24-year-old Bridgewater man, a 43-year-old Upper Burnie man and a 28-year-old Latrobe man.

“Please do the right thing and help us keep everyone safe this holiday season,” Inspector Spencer said.
