‘EZ’ tagger charged after South Launceston vehicles, letterboxes defaced

A Launceston man has been charged with graffiti offences after a tagging spree in the south of the city.

The 44-year-old from Ravenswood is accused of defacing several vehicles and letterboxes overnight on August 15.

Police received multiple complaints from members of the public on Bailey Street, Leslie Street and Westbury Road about the graffiti, which featured the tag “EZ”.

A spokesperson said the man has also been charged over several other graffiti incidents in the Ravenswood area involving the same tag.

He is scheduled to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.

“Police are still actively investigating several other graffiti offences that have been committed in and around the Launceston area where this tag was used,” the spokesperson said.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact Launceston Police on 131444 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
