‘Fake power bills sent by Labor’ are scaring vulnerable Tasmanians: Premier

Tasmania’s Premier has accused the Labor Party of scaring households and vulnerable Tasmanian’s by sending “fake power bills”.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the the ‘Liberal Energy’ letters, which have been made to look exactly like the standard electricity bills from Aurora Energy, are a “disgraceful scam”.

“[Labor Leader Rebecca] White must immediately apologise for her fake power bills, and immediately desist from sending any more such scams to Tasmanians.”

The Premier said the letter has caused ‘unnecessary worry’ for many Tasmanians, especially those who make it a priority to pay their bills on time.

“Ms White’s power bill has intentionally imitated an electricity bill with the sole purpose of deceiving and scaring Tasmanians.”

The Labor Party has not yet responded to the allegations.
