Four arrested after woman 'forced to transfer cash at gunpoint' in Hobart's north

Four people have been arrested after a woman was allegedly forced to transfer funds from her bank account at gunpoint in Hobart’s northern suburbs.

The incident occurred in Claremont around 2am on July 19, police said.

Two men aged 26 and 36 and two women aged 23 and 29 have been charged with aggravated armed robbery.

A spokesperson for Tasmania Police said the victim was allegedly threatened by people known to her.

“The matter was reported to police in the following days and investigations led to searches being executed in Granton and Herdmans Cove on 25 July,” a spokesperson said.

“Police located firearms and ammunition at both addresses.”

Alongside the robbery charge, the 36-year-old man from Granton is facing further firearms offences.

All four will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in late September.
