A popular Tasmanian coastal spot is set to welcome visitors once again, following lengthy restoration works after it was damaged by fire.
The Friendly Beaches campground on the east coast will reopen this Thursday, just in time for the Easter holiday break.
The site had been closed for repairs after a fire swept through the area, causing extensive damage to infrastructure.
Parks Minister Nick Duigan said restoration work has now been completed.

“Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife service have been working hard to ensure families can get back to this area as soon and as safely as possible,” Duigan said.
The upgrade included replacing two toilet blocks, building a new beach viewing platform and installing guideposts, fencing and signage.

“The road leading into the site has also been rejuvenated, enabling easy access for two-wheel drive vehicles and other camping vehicles,” Duigan said.
Other improvements include a restored lookout area, new fencing with clearly marked campsite numbers and repaired beach access points at the northern end of the campground.
Visitors are being reminded to respect the recovering environment and follow all signs while enjoying the area.
Friendly Beaches is one of the east coast’s most popular destinations, known for its white sandy beaches and stunning coastal views.
