Hobart commuters angry over massive traffic jam that gridlocked city

Angry Hobart commuters have been left frustrated this morning as the city battles with widespread gridlock and say the current traffic situation ‘just isn’t working’.

Commuters say they have been stuck for over an hour on trips that should have taken less than half an hour.

Drivers will need more than 45 minutes to travel from Kingston to the Hobart CBD and over an hour to navigate through and exit the city, according to Google Maps.

Commuters say a broader range of transportation options are urgently needed and that cars shouldn’t be discouraged from using the CBD until reliable alternatives are in place.

Delays on the Tasman Bridge after a crash just before 8am on Tuesday

The standstill started after an earlier multi-car crash on the Tasman Bridge just before 8am on Tuesday.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
