The Tasmanian AFL team has entered into a partnership with the disability employment service provider TasTextiles to create new limited-edition “Believer” merchandise.

The collaboration aims to support Tasmanian businesses and create opportunities for the NDIS-supported workforce, which has been making knitwear since 1946.

Tasmania Football Club executive Kath McCann said the scarves are of high quality and have a special meaning, representing the Tasmanian brand by producing products with “heart, care and real meaning”.

“TasTextiles are an incredible community organisation producing great products and creating positive outcomes for their staff, they are a great representation of the Tasmanian brand,” she said.

Minister for Disability Services Jo Palmer said the TasTextiles team is “very focused” on getting prototypes right and the embroidery perfected.

“You can imagine the pride that the TasTextiles team has being involved in such a significant project. It’s so wonderful to have them on board the believer train,” she said.

Nearly 500 scarves have already been purchased, with a limited number still available for purchase on the Believe Tasmania website.
