A celebration of the the Huon Valley’s vibrant and diverse arts scene is set to run between October 26-27, showcasing the work of local artists and makers.
The trail will feature over 20 studios, galleries and museums, each offering a unique glimpse into the creative process and the diverse range of artistic styles that thrive in the valley.
Visitors can expect to encounter everything from paintings and sculptures to ceramics, textiles, metalwork and jewellery.
Destination Southern Tasmania CEO Alex Heroys said the event, now in its fifth year, attracts a “wide range of visitors”.

“The Huon Valley Studio Art Trail enables Tasmanians and visitors to see an exciting and diverse collection of artworks by artists and makers living in the beautiful Huon Valley,” Heroys said.
“The artists invite you to come see them in their studios, hear about the creative process they use and what inspires and motivates them to produce their amazing artworks.”

Artist Libby Dyer, who is participating in the trail for the second time, said she was impressed by the number of people who visited her studio last year.
“I had probably about 90 people through each day,” she said.
“I do know that there is some studios, especially in Cygnet, that did 200 to 300 people a day.”
Dyer, who moved to Tasmania from Queensland 18 months ago, said the trail provides a platform for artists to connect with the community and other creatives.

“I love the community. I love connecting with other creators and makers,” she said.
“I’ve formed friendships with those and people who come through my studio.”

According to organisers, the trail has a significant impact on spending in the valley, with an additional $200,000 injected into the local economy during last year’s trail.
